love at first sight. . .

OK! So I am back from my blogging maternity leave- ha. Seriously, I have been meaning to get some pictures of the new baby up here but can't find the time in between feedings, diaper changes and quality time spent with Kalem- I even have my mom here helping out for a few weeks so I should have all the time in the world right now. What will I ever do when she leaves?? She has been such a saint and has been slaving away.
How does anyone get anything done with 2 children?? Everyone keeps saying things will get easier so I am holding ya'll to that in hopes that it is true.
So I thought I was prepared to have another newborn in the house but it's amazing how much I had forgotten since Kalem was a baby. The sleepless nights, endless diaper changing, outfit changes 3 x a day because she poops all over them and the best one of all- How much LOVE your heart feels when that new one arrives. It was love at first site for sure.
She has been a great baby so far and we are keeping our fingers crossed it stays that way.
Kalem just adores her and showers her with many kisses a day. He can't wait until she is old enough to play with his toys. He keeps setting down toys next to her in hopes she will pick it up and start playing. I can't believe how grown up he looks to me now. When we got home from the hospital he instantly changed from my little baby to such a BIG boy. That was a hard moment for me but all of these changes are good. We were getting too comfortable as a family of 3- it was time for another to join our family!!!

Today my friend Rachel came over to take some pictures of Quincy. We had a great time with it. I think Quincy wet on every blanket we had and she even left some marks on me but it was all worth it. Rachel is just starting out with her newborn photography but she did an amazing job. Take a look. . .

Imagination. . .

It is so fun for me watch Kalem use his imagination for playtime. We had imaginary play ALL DAY LONG today! I bought him a tiny airplane because we travel so much and he LOVES planes and so lately we have been getting on the plane flying all over the place to visit different people. So today we got on our imaginary flight and flew to Utah. Then he got his Jeep and loaded his motorcycles on it and we went riding in the imaginary sand dunes. Got stuck a few times and after a few flat tires decided we were done there. We loaded the jeep up and Headed for Bear Lake - Kalem even had to stop and go put on all his beach attire HEAD TO TOE. He even pretended to lather up with sunscreen. We had a picnic, picked up sea shells, made sand castles - Imaginary life is so much fun!!!!
